Let’s talk about…
ROSÉ

I’m Rosalind and I’m here to talk to you about Rosé. Whether it’s your first choice or your last on a wine list, this site is for you. After years of writing about and tasting wine, there is something truly special to me about the pink stuff. It’s a style that brings energy, joy and a sense of fun. And it can complement all and every style of cuisine (trust me). But make no mistake; it can be serious too, and the best Rosé wines are up there with the best wines of all hues. It’s the fastest growing style of wine in the world, but the least well understood.

So join me on a journey round the world of pink wine, from Provence to Perth and back again. New reviews every week, interviews with some fascinating producers, plus an annual report showcasing the best pink wines of the world. Welcome to the Rose Report.

Who Is Rosalind?

Rosalind left university with an MA in French & Drama, so was naturally drawn to the fascinating world of wine! Based in Palo Alto, she started her career lecturing, writing and leading tours in the buccaneering atmosphere of Napa and Sonoma, then came down to earth on her return to the UK, working her way up from secretary to an old-fashioned wine merchant, to fine wine broker in London. She then created her own California wine import business, with clients including the Ford Motor Company, Waitrose, Oddbins and The Sunday Times Wine Club. Roz also found time to gain the WSET Diploma in Wines & Spirits and to study oenology at the University of Bordeaux under the legendary Professor Peynaud.

An article about her Bordeaux experience led to an offer of a post at famed Decanter magazine, where she became Assistant Editor. She then became editor of Wine Times, working with renowned wine merchant Tony Laithwaite. Her first wine book was published when she was 29, and since then she has several more to her credit, including, most recently, The Wine Year, which is a joyous celebration of seasonality in wine and an inspiration to visit vineyards. She has also worked as a Senior Editor with wine writers including Hugh Johnson and Oz Clarke. Online, she has completed projects for the BBC, Channel 4, Vivino and Krug Champagne.

Rosalind is a passionate wine communicator who believes wine needs a little mystery, but not too much. We are all entitled to our own opinion about any wine, but it does help to have some guidance. And that’s where she comes in. With many years of experience as a wine writer, editor, tour guide and consultant, she is delighted to share her knowledge with you and help you appreciate and relish the sensory joys of pink wine.
