Porte Noire – Petite Porte Rose
Sorry Frank – we DO get a kick from Champagne! It’s an instant heartstarter. So let’s consider this new addition – a rather fabulous pink from Porte Noire. This intriguing collaboration between actor Idris Elba and wine guru David Farber began in Champagne, moved on to Provence and now is full circle back to fizz. That rosé expertise is showing as this subtle blend has a taut, peppery quality and subtle stone fruit that will react well to pairing with everything from rich creamy dishes to … white chocolate! I award it 19 points.

About this Vineyard
Porte Noire is the luxury wine and champagne brand born from a shared passion between award-winning actor Idris Elba and wine expert David Farber, who visited the historic Sanger viticultural school in Champagne together. The name means ‘black door’ in French, inspired by a beautiful door Elba spotted in Morocco while planning his wedding, and the first bottles of their Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs vintage champagne were released. The range has since grown to include four champagnes, a certified organic Provence rose made with Chateau Sainte Marguerite, and a cognac in partnership with Maison Ferrand.
