Lidl (own label) – Ventoux Rose 2023
Looking for an autumnal bargain? You’ve found it. For under £7 a bottle this well presented pink from delivers the goods. It’s lightly creamy and curranty on the palate, as befits a rosé from the southern reaches of the Rhône Valley in France. Snap it up to serve with warming dishes such as Catalan Fish Stew or seasonal mushrooms. Versatile and charming- I award this 17.5 points.

About this Vineyard
Lidl’s own-label wine range has become one of the UK’s best-kept secrets, with a permanent core of around 150 wines bolstered by six specially curated Wine Tour collections each year, all cherry-picked by Master of Wine Richard Bampfield. Their AOP Ventoux Rose is a blend of Grenache and Cinsault from vineyards near Mont Ventoux in the southern Rhone, offering a breezy Provencal style with surprising depth at a supermarket price. Winner of the GHI Readers’ Best Supermarket Wine Retailer 2024 award, Lidl continues to prove that brilliant wine can come at brilliant prices.
