Limetree (Co-op own label) – Limetree Rose

So – the wine I was viewing earlier- it’s an Aussie blend of three deep hued red grape varieties. Shiraz, Sangiovese and Petit Verdot. Inescapably closer to red than a typical rosé, this wine has a warm, plummy nose and surprising weight on the palate for 12.5%. At the risk of sounding like a cliché- perfect for a barbecue!? It’s assertive and affordable. I award it 16.5 points.

About this Vineyard

The Co-op’s Lime Tree range is an own-label collection of accessible Australian wines, with the rose produced by Kingston Estate Wines in South Eastern Australia. Featuring dark cherry fruit with hints of raspberry compote, the Lime Tree Rose is a cheerful, easygoing pink that exemplifies the Co-op’s commitment to offering vegan-friendly, good-value wines across their store network. The broader Lime Tree range also includes a well-regarded Merlot and Shiraz, both regular award-winners at the International Wine Challenge.
