Badet Clément

Here she is – La Belle Angèle 2023. And that vintage date does count. Freshness is what you want in a rosé, so beware wine merchants palming you off with older wines- unless they are truly rare and exceptional. The great outdoors is where this particular Angel comes into her own. She’s an apparently uncomplicated woman with hidden depths. That curranty Grenache on the nose yields to a firmer hint of Cinsault on the palate. Great balance – and at 12.5% it’s a wine to relish with lunch. In this case a simple egg sandwich with peppery watercress. The Angel takes this challenge in her stride. Great value for £7.99 when you buy a mix of six ( take note)! My score is 17 points.
