Berticot (Cave de Duras cooperative) – Secret de Berticot Rose

For less than 5 euros here’s a fruitfilled and drinkable pink from the long established Berticot cooperative near Duras in southwest France. Produced to high environmental standards this rosé from the Bergerac region punched well above its weight. A great aperitif – or try with sushi! I award it 17 points.

About this Vineyard

Founded by three visionary winemakers in the Cotes de Duras, the Cave de Berticot cooperative now represents over 80% of the appellation’s production, uniting around 120 winegrowers and 1,000 hectares of vines between the Dordogne and Garonne rivers. Recently merged with Cellier de Graman to form Les Vignerons de Berticot-Graman, the cooperative has been committed to bioresponsible practices and is expanding internationally to some 20 countries. Their wines share much of Bordeaux’s DNA – similar soils, climate, and grape varieties – but with a distinctive identity and outstanding value.
