La Belle Angele – Rose

Solving one of life’s great dilemmas on this autumnal day- what to serve with a classic fish finger sandwich? Like Nigella, I am an unashamed proponent of these scrummy sticks, especially with traditional white bread and a bite of fresh spinach. Pink wine comes into its own with this ‘greasy spoon’ lunch. The acidity cuts through and the freshness of the peachy fruit serves as contrast. All hail La Belle Angèle for winging her way to these shores from the ever shape-shifting Languedoc. This Grenache and Cinsault blend is a true crowd pleaser. I award it 17 points.
