Hampton Water – Hampton Water Rose
On this hot and sultry day I have one simple query- would you fancy taking to the water with Jon Bon Jovi, his son Jesse and a former French rugby star? I certainly know my answer….Hampton Water rosé is a joint creation from these three… in a glamorous bottle with a sexy label. Not inexpensive for a Languedoc pink, is it worth the money? Speaking personally I am not a huge fan of fancy glass stoppers so a simple cork might have cut costs? But I can see why it was selected – like it creators, for eye appeal. And let’s face it we do buy Rosé with our eyes. It’s beautiful. Typical red fruit aromas here, plenty of minerality and a soupçon of oak. Balanced, like the diver. Chill well as there’s a faint sweetness on the finish. Play Steve Winwood’s classic album Arc of a Diver (or some Bon Jovi) and just relax. Enjoy.

About this Vineyard
Born in 2017 from the creative collaboration between Jesse Bongiovi, his father Jon Bon Jovi, and legendary winemaker Gerard Bertrand, Hampton Water is a rose that bridges the laid-back glamour of the Hamptons with the sun-drenched terroirs of Languedoc-Roussillon. Personally crafted by Bertrand from a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvedre, and Syrah, a portion is aged briefly in new French oak barrels, lending the wine its signature silky finish. On its very first vintage, Hampton Water scored 90 points from Wine Spectator and landed on their Top 100 list — and it has matched that score every vintage since.
