La Luciole – La Luciole Rose

Why a corkscrew you may ask? Well this is a cork from a pink wine which is rather unattractive by itself but has the merit of being fully recyclable. So… you can treat yourself to a few bottles of this eminently quaffable wine for this weekend and feel vaguely virtuous! The name of the wine evokes those fabulous fireflies we all associate with warm corners of Europe. Sip this rosé and as you savour its aromas of ripe cantaloupe melon and raspberry just imagine yourself on a sun warmed terrace in the South of France- or the deck of a yacht? Serve with panache – and prawns.

About this Vineyard

La Luciole — meaning ‘The Firefly’ — is a French rose made from organically farmed Grenache grapes, vinified by winemaker Thibaud Mandet. The grapes are gently hand-picked in the cool morning hours to preserve their delicate aromatics, resulting in a pale, refreshing Vin de France with notes of watermelon, strawberry, and a crisp citrus finish. Widely available at Co-op stores across the UK, it is a lovely little bottle for a warm evening.
