Foncalieu (Haut Gleon) – Les Amours de Haut Gleon Rose

A glamorous bottle from well known Languedoc producer Foncalieu this tasty little number has tantalising aromas of liquorice and dried apricot. Yet the finish is satisfyingly crisp and dry. It’s a balanced blend of Syrah and Grenache and would work superbly well as a pair to crispy squid or cuttlefish- a regional favourite.

About this Vineyard

Les Vignobles Foncalieu is the largest winegrower cooperative in the south of France, established and now representing some 619 vintners across 5,200 hectares in the Languedoc. Their flagship estate, Chateau Haut Gleon, is a beautifully secluded property in the Corbieres’ Vallee du Paradis, built, where 36 hectares of HVE-certified vines — some over a hundred years old — are scattered among 260 hectares of woodland fed by three natural springs. It is a place where ancient winemaking tradition meets forward-thinking innovation, including some of France’s first plantings of resistant grape varieties.
