Jean Leon – Jean Leon 3055 Rose

Wonderful to be back at an iconic London wine tasting today. Annual Fells event featured fine wines from around the world including this delightful and delicate pink by Jean Leon (created by a woman) and the marvellous pink Champagne Henriot, among others.

About this Vineyard

Jean Leon is one of Spain’s most romantic wine stories: born Ceferino Carrion in Santander in 1928, the founder sailed to America as a stowaway, worked for Frank Sinatra, opened the legendary La Scala restaurant in Beverly Hills with James Dean, and in 1962 planted Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay in Penedes — producing Spain’s first-ever single-varietal Cabernet Sauvignon. Now owned by the Torres family since 1994 and managed by Mireia Torres, the 65-hectare estate has been certified organic since the 2012 vintage and holds the prestigious Vi de Finca distinction from the Government of Catalonia for four of its wines.
