Wyfold Vineyard (Barbara Laithwaite) – Wyfold Vineyard Brut Rose

A very special English sparkling wine for New Year 2022 this elegant fizz is produced in tiny quantities by Barbara Laithwaite with the help of her winemaker son Henry. With a delicate fragrance of quince and preserved fruits it fits this season perfectly and would happily accompany any dinner party thanks to its fine structure and finish. Already aged for 4 years before release it would keep for 7 more- if you can resist opening it!

About this Vineyard

Wyfold Vineyard is the tiny but mighty two-hectare passion project of Barbara Laithwaite CBE, co-chairman of Laithwaites Wines, who planted 4,000 vines in the Chiltern Hills of South Oxfordshire with a chemistry degree, viticulture studies, and boundless determination. The vineyard sits on a high, south-facing slope near Henley-on-Thames on flinty gravel mixed with the same prized chalk found in Champagne – a ‘geological miracle’ that produces sparkling wines of remarkable intensity. Barbara grows Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier using traditional method, with three years on lees before release, and her first commercial vintage took top prize at the prestigious Judgement of Parsons Green – the Pantone Institute even chose Wyfold as the official colour reference for English Sparkling.
