Vinca
It’s a crossover day today – instead of a Provence pink to accompany my Salade Niçoise, I am choosing a delightful organic rosé from Sicily. And, since it’s a lovely day, we are eating in the garden. What could be more convenient than a pretty little (recyclable) can, well chilled? And there’s a definite connection between the French Riviera and the west coast of Sicily. Both offer fine growing conditions and optimal ripening for the noble Syrah grape. This wine from demonstrates the spicy, black peppery twist of flavour associated with this variety- and it also has fresh, fruity charm. I award it 17 points.

About this Vineyard
Vinca is a London-based canned wine brand founded by Jack, a well-travelled wine lover who witnessed the effects of climate change on vineyards first-hand and decided to switch to 100% recyclable aluminium cans. Set up, the brand sources organic Syrah, Nero d’Avola and other varieties from Sicily’s sun-drenched west coast, and is now selling more than two million cans per year through stockists including Tesco, M&S, Whole Foods and Planet Organic.
