Santa Tresa – Il Frappato Vino Spumante Biologico Brut
A rather seductive combination- Sicilian Spumante with Milanese Panettone. Add in the fact that this is a fully organic wine made with the unusual Frappato grape and it’s a conversation! Wild strawberries, assertive bubbles and a faintly creamy finish make this a great choice for my 6th Pink Wine of Christmas. I award this one 17.5 points.

About this Vineyard
Feudo di Santa Tresa is a historic Sicilian estate dating back generations, purchased by Trentino brother-and-sister team Stefano and Marina Girelli with the vision of restoring it to glory through certified organic viticulture. Located near Vittoria in south-east Sicily at 240 metres above sea level, the estate’s 39 hectares of organic, low-intervention vineyards grow everything from Frappato and Nero d’Avola to the near-extinct Orisi variety, which Stefano is working to revive in partnership with the University of Marsala. Santa Tresa was one of the first Sicilian wineries to achieve organic certification, and their commitment to biodiversity includes ecological corridors and an underground irrigation system that saves 70% of water.
