Olivier Brouzet & Raphael Ibanez – N2 & N5 Rose
They think it’s all over – and for the French rugby team it is…. But the spirit lives on in this crisp, masculine rosé produced in the Bordeaux region by two former top players (one of them is now team manager). They co-own a wine château and this wine proves they are not just playing around at winemaking…under the aegis of redoutable Ginestet this is a proper pink with dusty ripe fruit on the palate and pizazz on the finish… if only the French could have exhibited some of that on the pitch! I award it 17 points.
