Monte del Fra – Chiaretto di Bardolino Rose

Here’s to us all on International Women’s Day – to all of us who work with wine, appreciate wine and know wine. I toast you with a delightful Chiaretto di Bardolino from the Veneto. Subtle, delicate and well balanced. Like all of us?

About this Vineyard

Monte del Fra’s story stretches all the way back to 1492, when Friars of the Santa Maria della Scala order first planted vines in these morainic hills near Lake Garda — a fact documented in the Verona Chapter Library, the oldest existing library in the world. The modern estate was founded in 1958 by Massimo Bonomo, whose sons Eligio and Claudio transformed the farm into a dedicated wine operation in 1988, bottling their celebrated Ca del Magro the following year. Now in its third generation with Marica, Silvia, and Massimo joining the family business, Monte del Fra farms 200 hectares across Custoza, Bardolino, Valpolicella, and Lugana, exporting to more than 60 countries.
