Maison Mirabeau – Mirabeau Etoile Rose

This doesn’t happen often. I come up with a tasting note that seems original and feel pretty pleased about it. In this case, definitely detected notes of dried pear – but when I went to the Mirabeau website someone had beaten me to it!

Only pear in general, but dried pear is pretty close.

Like all the rather fabulous Mirabeau range, this accomplished wine has a fantastic balance of fruit and acidity and reflects the skilled winemaking by this British couple in Provence.

Savour the warm ripeness of nectarine and then the remarkably full finish. It’s one to sip before a big night out.

Only 12.5% so you’ll still be standing.

About this Vineyard

Founded in 2010 by Stephen and Jeany Cronk from the spare room of their home in the Provencal village of Cotignac, Maison Mirabeau has grown into one of Provence’s most celebrated rose houses, with distribution across the UK, Europe, and beyond. Their 20-hectare Domaine near La Garde-Freinet in the Cotes de Provence sub-region of Notre Dame des Anges is farmed using regenerative and organic practices on distinctive pink sandstone soils — Stephen even co-founded the Regenerative Viticulture Foundation. In early 2026, Chilean wine giant Concha y Toro announced the acquisition of a majority stake, a testament to the global brand the Cronks have built, with Stephen staying on as CEO.
