Laurent Miquel – Vendanges Nocturnes Classic Rose

I asked Richard Bampfield MW his opinion on rosé with Christmas turkey and this is his reaction…

“With each Christmas that passes, I am more and more convinced that Christmas turkey is simply a good opportunity to drink your favourite wine……..whatever that might be! There are so many different flavours on the plate it is difficult to find a wine that matches all of them. So why not a rosé? As good a call as any in my view!”

About this Vineyard

Laurent Miquel is the eighth generation of his family to work the vineyards near the medieval Abbey de Fontcaude in the Languedoc, where monks first planted vines in 1202. Alongside his wife Neasa, he has pioneered night-harvesting — vendanges nocturnes — to capture his grapes at the peak of freshness under cool evening temperatures, a technique that has become the signature of his best-loved range. His Vendanges Nocturnes Classic Rose is a vivid expression of this philosophy: pure, bright fruit from the southern French sun, picked under the stars.
