La Gioiosa et Amorosa – La Gioiosa Prosecco Rose Millesimato

For all of you emerging, blinking, from Dry January- may I present an exceptional Prosecco for your consideration. This delicate lychee pink fizz has a subtle Italian elegance, delicate stone fruit flavour and an alcohol content of only 10.5% to ease you toward … Valentine’s Day!? My suggestion would be to consume this most waking hours on that special day. The great virtue of Prosecco is its gentler fizz (compared to Champagne) and its versatility. I award this 17 points. Head to for a few bottles. Guaranteed to mitigate the gloom of February.

About this Vineyard

La Gioiosa — meaning ‘The Joyous’ — takes its name from Treviso’s historic nickname, Marca gioiosa et amorosa, the joyful and loving land. Founded in 1974 by Giancarlo Moretti Polegato, whose family had been growing grapes in these hills since the 1920s, the winery has played a starring role in taking Prosecco to the world, now exporting to over 110 countries. With vineyards in the UNESCO World Heritage hills between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, and 600 partner growers, La Gioiosa is one of Italy’s most important and joyful sparkling wine producers.
