Il Palagio – Il Palagio Newday Rose
Fighting the good fight for organic rosé worldwide with Lance Pigott from Vintage Roots – and Sting …..Yes this enchanting pink wine from Tuscany is produced at Il Palagio, his immensely enviable estate, which has been a refuge for him and Trudie since 1999. With a history dating back to the 16th century it is a superb Terroir for wine of all shades- and for olives. Produced according to biodynamic principles, this faintly apricot-tinted pink features white peach and a dash of white pepper on the nose, with a long finish that reveals the technical skill of the winemaking team. There’s some oak here so would recommend with food – something simple like a dish made with wild mushrooms or perhaps a cold roast chicken with homemade salsa verde.

About this Vineyard
Tenuta Il Palagio is the stunning 16th-century Tuscan estate owned by Sting and his wife Trudie Styler, nestled among the vineyards of Figline Valdarno in the province of Florence. The couple painstakingly restored the run-down villa and its 350 hectares of land, converting the entire operation to certified biodynamic and organic farming, with wines charmingly named after Sting’s own songs. Today, under the guidance of consultant oenologist Riccardo Cotarella and resident oenologist Ettore del Lupo, the estate produces around 120,000 bottles a year from 11 hectares of vines, led by Sangiovese alongside Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Vermentino.
