Created from 100% Syrah in the innovative Maremma region (also home to some glorious Supertuscans) it offers an elusively spicy quality on the nose which may derive from brief exposure to acacia wood barrels. Then you’ll discover loganberry, a hint of patchouli and an overlay of salty ozone from the vineyard’s proximity to the sea. It’s made by exceptional winemaker Elisabetta Geppetti, who single-handedly revived the Morellino di Scansano DOCG. Sip this one slowly, while savouring fine extra virgin Tuscan olive oil and fresh focaccia.

About this Vineyard

Elisabetta Geppetti inherited Fattoria Le Pupille in Maremma, Tuscany, at just 20 years old, and has since transformed it into one of the region’s most celebrated estates. Known as ‘The Lady of Morellino,’ Geppetti proved that Maremma could produce wines of breathtaking ambition, and her 420-hectare estate, with its 85 hectares of vines and 20 of olive groves, remains a beacon of Tuscan excellence.
