Dordonia – Dordonia #24 Rose

It’s a treat to make do with what’s in the fridge for lunch – and find an easygoing pink wine to go alongside. Today I took wonderful but overripe local French tomatoes. A few spare prawns and anchovies plus garden herbs and cooked rice. A sprinkle of grated Parmesan- et voilà! A light and lovely lunch for a sunny day here in the Gironde. The rosé is produced just up the road- tart and zingy- a far cry from floral Provençal styling. It worked. Now – back to the pool……,,

About this Vineyard

Dordonia #24 is the creation of Vignobles Dubard, a family estate founded in the late 1970s when the Dubard family established Chateau Laulerie west of Bergerac in the Montravel appellation. Today the family farms over 100 hectares across the Dordogne, Lalande de Pomerol, and Puisseguin Saint-Emilion, all certified HVE (High Environmental Value). The Dordonia rose, a blend of Merlot and Malbec from the Perigord IGP, is made with indigenous yeasts and aged in stainless steel — consistently delicious and a wonderful ambassador for this often-overlooked corner of southwest France.
