Chateau Leoube

A perfect day to pay a visit to Oxford and inspect its latest attraction- – a very chic and imaginative adaptation of a former department store. Don’t miss the outstanding rooftop bar with its astonishing panoramic views over Oxford’s architecture. I sipped a charming organic Provence rosé from Château Leoube, owned by the dynamic Bamford family. It had a nectarine/apricot nose and a dry, nutty finish. So refreshing. I award it 18 points.

About this Vineyard

Chateau Leoube is a breathtaking 560-hectare organic estate on the Cap Benat peninsula of the Cote d’Azur, where vines and olive groves have been cultivated since the 15th century. Rediscovered by Sir Anthony and Lady Carole Bamford – who brought the same organic philosophy they had developed at Daylesford in the Cotswolds – the estate has been certified organic, with winemaker Romain Ott (of the illustrious Ott winemaking dynasty) at the helm for over 20 years. From the vibrant Rose de Leoube to the refined Secret de Leoube, these are wines of genuine Provencal elegance, crafted with a deep commitment to sustainability that extends to olive oil, gin, and even a beachside cafe.
