Chateau d’Esclans
It’s Mother’s Day in the UK and there’s a waft of Spring in the air. In the glass there is Whispering Angel 2022 which epitomises Summer- ripe nectarine, a hint of spice and a warmth on the palate. My score- 18.5. Pair this with a simple Salade Niçoise or an elaborate lobster dish… or simply sip as an aperitif. Over to you.

About this Vineyard
Chateau d’Esclans is the estate that launched a thousand rose obsessions. Acquired by Sacha Lichine, who brought in retired Mouton Rothschild winemaker Patrick Leon, this Provence property in La Motte-en-Provence ignited what many call the ‘Rose Renaissance.’ Now majority-owned by LVMH and with Patrick’s son Bertrand leading the winemaking team, the estate’s portfolio — from the wildly popular Whispering Angel to the top-tier Garrus, made from vines up to 100 years old — is sold in over 100 countries.
