Chassaux et Fils – Terres du Midi Rose

Once upon a time, dear readers, there was a vast swathe of France devoted to producing Vin de Table, the simple drink beloved of blue clad workers and UK students alike. I should know – I was one- student that is. Today the Aude, Herault and Gard are aiming higher with their IGP labelling as Terre du Midi. This designation only dates back to 2018 and the attractive and straightforward wines it yields (from a choice of 100 approved grape varieties) are reliable stalwarts in our picnic baskets and at our barbecues this summer. This lychee coloured pink is fresh on the palate and has enough finish to pair well with spicy Asian dishes or sushi. It’s not complicated. Just drinkable – and very reasonably priced.

About this Vineyard

Chassaux et Fils is a southern French wine producer working across the Rhone, Languedoc, and Provence, widely known for supplying wines under Aldi’s ‘Specially Selected’ label in the UK. These are wines that punch well above their supermarket price point.
