Harlot – Harlot Rose Brut
How would you like to sample a Sparkling Harlot?
This newly launched English wine brand is certainly not shy and retiring, and is firmly aimed to compete with all-conquering Prosecco. The rosé version comes in an eye-catching bottle with a jazzy label and in the glass it’s an attractive foxy shade of pink to match. Produced using classic varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Noir & Pinot Meunier it also adds a dash of Bacchus – a successful UK grape that offers a hint of floral fragrance to a wine. Where Prosecco has aromas of sunkissed honeysuckle, this wine is fruitier and sums up an English autumn of ripe apples and pears. On the palate the finish is light, not lingering, but in all this cleverly conceived fizz should make its mark at parties. About £16 a bottle.

About this Vineyard
Harlot is shaking up the English sparkling wine scene with its bold, affordable fizz made using the Charmat method rather than the traditional bottle fermentation favoured by most English producers. Part of the MDCV wine group, Harlot sources organically managed Bacchus, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay grapes exclusively from vineyards in Kent and Essex, with ambitions to become the UK’s largest wine producer. Their Brut Rose is a dazzling, berry-forward sparkler that delivers serious English character at a price that undercuts its rivals — a genuine disruptor in a bottle or a can.
