Chateau Pigoudet – La Chapelle Rose
The flowers of summer are fading and the delicate musk rose scent of this Provence pink evokes the fallen petals. And there’s an agreeable hint of autumnal apple there too. This is a fantastic match for hot smoked salmon and it’s unafraid of spice, thanks to a citrus bite on the finish.

About this Vineyard
Chateau Pigoudet is the northernmost vineyard of the Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence appellation, nestled in the shadow of the Sainte-Victoire massif at 400 metres above sea level, on a site where Romans first planted vines. The 40-hectare estate, later managed for centuries by the Archdiocese of Aix-en-Provence, has been producing wine since around and today houses one of the most modern cellars in Provence. Their roses – crafted from Grenache, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah using the saignee method with natural yeasts – are recognised as some of the most dependable and characterful in the region.
